Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRSS) Certification Training: Version 3

Welcome to the Nevada Peer Recovery Support Specialist Training! You have taken an important first step towards joining the growing workforce of peer recovery support specialists in Nevada. Completion of this training satisfies the credentialing requirements based on the following learning domains set forth by the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) and our state certification board:

  1. Mentoring and Education
  2. Recovery and Wellness
  3. Advocacy
  4. Ethical Responsibility

The Nevada Certification Board (NCB) is the statewide certifying body that oversees the PRSS certification. It aims to provide the state of Nevada with a well trained, educated and skilled community and behavioral healthforce. The NCB works to ensure the safety of those receiving services and enhance accountability by applying rigorous standards for acquiring and maintaining certification. The board is also in charge of enforcing the code of ethics that govern the PRSS and other helping roles, including Community Health Work,  PRSS Supervisors, and Prevention Specialists.
