As we move into a conversation regarding how recovery is defined, it’s important to remember that all individuals living with substance use and mental health disorders have the capacity to recover. Finding recovery benefits from sustained support, which may look different for everyone. For some, this may look like formal treatment; for others, participation in mutual aid meetings. It might look like family engagement, or support from a community of faith. Regardless of what this support looks like, employers play a role in facilitating these supports and reducing barriers to wellness.
